Our Projects: FIRE
FIRE is a pan-London retrospective study of the management and outcomes of infants under 3 months presenting with fever aiming to outline variations in management and outcomes, and to examine the performance of local and national guidelines in identifying serious bacterial infections.
We have now finished recruitment, with >2000 presentations of fever captured from 19 London sites. Analysis is ongoing, but preliminary results indicate significant variation in management. These initial results have been presented at the RCPCH Conference, and further results have been submitted for peer-reviewed publication.
